Types of BlackJack

Everyone has heard of the classic blackjack and most of us know how to play it, but did you know that there are over ten types of blackjack in the whole world? Neither did we, until now. Let’s take a glimpse over the most popular ones.

European Blackjack

This version of blackjack is played with two decks of cards, instead of one. The two cards you receive and the dealer’s card will be faced up. The dealer’s second card, this time facing down, will only be dealt when you decide how to play your hand. You can split, hit, stand or double the cards or decide to double down when having a total of 11, 9 or 10.

Spanish 21

The Spanish version is played with either six or eight decks. Before shuffling, all 10 value cards will be removed. The basic rules are almost the same as in the European blackjack, except that the dealer gets to look at his hole card and choose whether to play it or not. Also, you can surrender after doubling down.

Vegas strip blackjack

With a huge popularity over the Internet, the American Blackjack is played with 4 decks of cards and it is very much the same as the Spanish 21, where the dealer is also allowed to have his hole card, but he has to maintain on the soft 17.  Another difference would be the fact that the player is allowed to split the aces after doubling down and he is also allowed to re-split three times.

No matter what type of blackjack you choose to play, always try to make the best out of each hand.
